I feel so dumb for bending that control arm, it doesnt seem to affect how it drives but its not right and needs to be fixed. The power steering line thats leaking needs to be replaced. And the coil wire needs a straight plug style end to reach the bottom of the coil. But hey the car was free. It runs smooth. It will be able to get me to work this winter.

I see it has "25" tabs on it, which means it was probably running until recently. Therefore the rodents haven 't moved in yet. It's straight, with little or no cancer. Even the paint is half decent. Interior is messy but decent. (no rips in the driver's seat. It's complete without it being all apart. And 182k is lo mi for a 34 year old car. And you got that Ancientmobile for FREE!? Therefore this is a prime specimen for salvageability. And this is what I thought before reading your opening comment. Great score! One piece of advice, I'd put that cloth cover back on the vinyl steering wheel, which gets cold in winter and hot in summer on your hands. It no doubt ameliorated freezing Alaska winters. Also, the cover explains why the steering wheel is in such good shape.

You stick it to the man when you get cars, fix em, and drive till wheels fall off, then fix and drive some more! Car prices are beyond ridiculous. Also, it's fun to see cars from the past being brought back to life. If they were new, they are still fine. Our latest new cars are so packed with infotainment. I thought driving meant keep your eyes on the road, not the screen?

you are doing it wrong. First you cannot run the fuel injection without the emissions system. Your stock fuel injection system run on feedback/electronic fuel injection/ECM from emissions system. You would have to go points and condenser and carburetor to make it run and install low PSI fuel pump, fuel injection fuel pump is too high. Good Luck

I had a used 1990 Toyota Corolla Wagon bought in 2007 with 137,000 miles on it. I drove it until 2019 and it had 439,000 mi. when I sold it. I had to replace the alternator and plugs on it once then only changed the oil & filter every 3000 miles.

I love a good wagon. Mine got hit but I think I can fix it. Suzuki forenza wagon. Knock off Jetta made in Korea by Daewoo with GM all under the hood. Sold as Ford fusion ZX 2. They're so convenient. Zip tie 1x1s across the roof rack and load anything up there. Pop the hatchback and lay the seats down and load more.

Honestly, I’d probably just convert this to carb. Did it to an ‘84 EFI thunderbird and it worked great. Way better than that shitty old 80s EFI lol Just used a chinese 2 barrel carb and a cheap HEI distributor. And as far as screaming deals, today I go to pick up a $250 1986 Suburban👀

With the camry if it has sat with old gas plus it's never been changed out you might run some injector cleaner through it or check that. I know all the problems I had with my old camry wagon that was 4 cylinder was electrical and with grounds and wires getting old and brittle. The little heater on them though would roast you out so it'll be a nice winter car.

On our 1998 K1500 with the 5.7L the ABS light is on and the speedometer is fluttering all over and causing the transmission to shift up and down randomly and kick off the cruise control. Have you had this problem before? We replaced the VSS and the ignition wiring harness, but that did not fix it.

I like it 👍 i am really glad you were able to pick up the camry wagon, the v6 model is hard to come by and they are rock solid engines . he had posted it in a comment in one of my post so i told him to post it on Car buddies there are about 5 of that generation on market place if you need parts . i might check out a V6 camry sedan off craigslist this week . i had a maroon sedan a few summers back and it was a comfortable and reliable daily driver the wheels are 5x100 in case you ever want to swap them

I had an 89 wagon just like that and the only reason I got rid of it just 5 years ago is because the floorboards were starting to rot through. If you intend to keep it I'd suggest som sort of bed liner or under chassis paint to keep it from doing that. Otherwise it was great and mine had almost 300,000 miles and still ran great. Rode great too after new shocks and tires.
